FG Holding, the parent company of a solid family-owned business group bringing together Magazzini Gabrielli and FG Gallerie Commerciali, has presented “The value that remains”, the Group’s first Sustainability Report, recently approved by the Board of Directors.

Prepared on a voluntary basis, the document aims to formalise and measure the path of environmental, social and governance responsibility developed by the Group’s two operational divisions.

A mature business model

With consolidated revenues in 2025 of 1,323 billion euros and an extensive presence comprising more than 320 points of sale and 13 shopping centres across Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Umbria, Lazio and Vatican City, the Gabrielli Group represents an economic and social pillar in central Italy. The first Sustainability Report reveals the foundations of a mature business model, designed to transform economic growth into shared value over time.

“With this first Sustainability Report, we are presenting as a single account a journey that belongs to our history and that today is taking on a more structured form. For us, growth has always meant maintaining a strong connection with our roots, the areas in which we operate and the people who contribute to the development of our activities every day. Attention to environmental, social and governance impacts is nothing new for us: it is an integral part of the way we do business. Today, we have systematised this heritage, strengthening its measurability and integration into strategic decisions. ‘The value that remains’ expresses our desire to turn our principles into decisions capable of generating tangible and lasting benefits for people, communities and territories,” stated Cesira Gabrielli, Chair of FG Holding.

A voluntary report inspired by European standards

Among the distinctive features of FG Holding’s first Sustainability Report is, first and foremost, the reporting scope, which coincides with that of the Consolidated Financial Statements 2025 and anticipates the framework of the European Directive Csrd (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and the related Esrs (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). To give substance to this commitment, the Group has created a well-organised structure: on the one hand, a Sustainability Committee, led by the company’s senior management, defines strategies; on the other, the Sustainability Hub, a working group present in all departments, is responsible for collecting data and implementing ecological and social choices in day-to-day management. In addition, at the beginning of 2026, the Internal Auditing function was established, with the aim of verifying the operation and suitability of the Group’s internal control system, strengthening transparency and reliability in corporate management.

“Double Materiality”

In 2025, the Group also completed its first analysis of “Double Materiality” (Impact Materiality and Financial Materiality), a fundamental strategic tool for identifying priorities along the supply chain, from suppliers to end customers. The analysis considers sustainability from two perspectives: the impact of activities on the external context and, conversely, the influence of environmental and social factors on resilience and future prospects.

Based on the analysis of 66 potential scenarios involving risks, opportunities and tangible effects, 46 material topics were identified and assigned to 23 action pillars. This map made it possible to guide future investments, focusing resources on the ecological transition, the continuity and safety of the food supply chain, and the enhancement of human resources.

Clean energy and ecosystem protection

The results of the Sustainability Report show the path undertaken by the Gabrielli Group to make the management of its assets more efficient and progressively reduce its environmental impact. In 2025, the Group’s companies gave a major boost to infrastructure investment to reduce their carbon footprint. The journey centred on self-generation from renewable sources, reaching 30 photovoltaic systems in operation – across Magazzini Gabrielli and FG Gallerie Commerciali – which produced more than 4.200 MWh of clean energy.

Looking at the individual companies in the Group, Magazzini Gabrielli obtained the official Iso 50001 certification for energy-efficiency management, installing more than one thousand digital meters in its shops capable of monitoring and optimising consumption remotely in real time. FG Gallerie Commerciali has also begun the process of obtaining Breeam environmental certification for the “Il Girasole” shopping centre in Fermo and “Battente Shopping&More” in Ascoli Piceno, aiming to achieve high building sustainability standards by 2026.

The commitment to the environment also extends to the protection of biodiversity, with various tree-planting and educational projects to protect the sea, including a scientific project by Magazzini Gabrielli that uses local bee hives as natural bioindicators to monitor the health of the air and ecosystem in the areas where it operates.

Circular economy

On the social front, the Group has transformed the fight against food waste into a structured support network for local communities, forging alliances with leading partners. A cornerstone of this commitment is the collaboration between Magazzini Gabrielli and the Fondazione Banco Alimentare Ets through the Siticibo project: in 2025, this synergy made it possible to recover and convert into a resource more than 54 tonnes of unsold edible food, collected from 19 points of sale and donated to canteens and families in need.

This daily commitment was accompanied by the “A gift for Banco” campaign, which made it possible to donate a further 45.000 euros’ worth of essential goods. An initiative of great symbolic and practical value is represented by the opening of the Tigre Annona supermarket within Vatican City – the Group’s first presence outside the national borders, which led to a direct agreement with the Papal Almonry for the daily donation of unsold surplus food to reception facilities in Rome.

People, inclusive innovation and support for healthcare facilities

People, however, are the true driving force behind the Gabrielli Group, a principle reflected in its attention to job stability, inclusion and professional development. During the year, more than 40.500 hours of training were delivered, and the process of obtaining official certification on Gender Equality (Uni/PdR 125:2022) was launched, confirming the Group’s commitment to valuing people and building an increasingly inclusive working environment.

Responsibility towards the community has also taken the form of innovative projects with a healthcare impact. On the one hand, FG Gallerie Commerciali has broken down accessibility barriers by launching its own app, “Battente Ti Guida” at the “Battente Shopping&More” shopping centre in Ascoli Piceno, a tool based on proximity sensors that enables blind and visually impaired people to move around completely independently. On the other hand, FG Holding has supported local healthcare by donating cutting-edge technologies, such as a specialist Multitrac chair to the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department of “Mazzoni” Hospital in Ascoli Piceno to assist with childbirth, and a high-performance ultrasound scanner to the Operative Unit of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at “Torrette” Hospital in Ancona.
