Compagnia del Gusto acquires Winelivery: fourth acquisition since April 2026

Growth continues for Compagnia del Gusto Holding (Cdgh), an Italian company active in food & and beverage and focused on high-potential brands.

After acquiring, in Great Britain, Jascots Wine, at the beginning of August, following the deal involving, in June this year, Cantine Romagnoli and, even earlier (in April), the acquisition of 100% of Krumiri Rossi, the group has acquired Winelivery, a specialised digital and physical platform for wine and beverages.

Winelivery: high-tech multichannel wine business

The new subsidiary was established in 2017 to connect consumers and brands through an integrated model of commerce, home delivery, purchasing experience and digital services.

Founded by Francesco Magro, Giovanni Roberto and Andrea Antinori, Winelivery has developed a “phygital” model combining a proprietary digital platform with a physical presence in the area.

The acquired company operates, as mentioned, through the delivery of wine, beer, spirits and other categories, its own network of specialised retail outlets (Bar&Enoteca) and Wedia, a company specialising in digital marketing, artificial intelligence and communication services for the food and beverage sector.

Wedia has around 1,7 million downloads and provides a wealth of technological expertise and data built up over time.

Winelivery, founded in Milan as a start-up, recorded revenue in 2025, of more than 4,4 million euros, with a loss of around 1,8 million euros. Turnover in 2024was just over 5 million, while in 2019 the figure amounted to 1 million and 180.000 euros. The highest point was reached in 2022, with more than 7,7 million euros.

The reasons for an acquisition unlike the usual kind

The transaction represents a new step in the industrial development of Compagnia del Gusto: although the new asset will become part of the wine business unit, Compagnia delle Vigne, it may eventually become strategic for the group as a whole.

In short, this is not an acquisition aimed solely at expanding the scale of the business, but the entry of an infrastructure that, in the short term, may contribute to the development of the various BUs that make up Compagnia del Gusto.

Winelivery may thus become a genuine market laboratory for the company’s entire portfolio, fostering new consumption occasions, promotional gifting activities and B2B initiatives capable of bringing wine, food specialities and seafood excellence together.

“The acquisition of Winelivery,” further emphasises Sergio Albarelli, chairman of Cdgh “represents a transaction unlike those we have carried out so far and, precisely for this reason, particularly important for our future. It is a further step in building an industrial platform capable of generating value through the integration of complementary expertise and companies.”

“Ten years ago, Winelivery was little more than an idea. Today, a new chapter begins, the result of a journey built day after day together with my co-founders, our team, investors and the more than 400.000 customers who have chosen us,” adds Francesco Magro, founder.

Compagnia del Gusto towards 250 million

Compagnia del Gusto Holding S.p.A., divided into three branches, Compagnia del Mare, Compagnia delle Vigne and Compagnia dei Sapori, aims to achieve, over the next 6-7 years, revenue of 200-250 million euros, with EBITDA between 18 and 20 per cent.

The portfolio of acquired brands also includes Fjord, Sal SeaFood and Elite, in the seafood sector,, as well as Arya and Sansego, for the wine market.
