Sale of the assets Realco at the final stage. The second auction for the sale of the assets made it possible to sell 23 stores out of 40. Meanwhile, Transcoop took the lion’s share in the auction of the properties.

Transcoop, a transport cooperative from Reggio Emilia, is reported by Reggionline to have offered 8,5 million euros for the headquarters in Via Pertini, in Reggio Emilia. This is an area of 34thousand square metres, with 18thousand square metres of covered floor space, containing the Realco office building and warehouses, some of which are refrigerated.

There would also be an offer of 800thousand euros for a building plot in San Polo (Reggio Emilia) from Conad Centro Nord and another from discount chain MD for the freehold of a store in Imola that is no longer operating.

Break-up of 40 stores

For the auction of the stores, according to reports from Filcams Cgil, the aim of the court-appointed administrators of the Bologna court was to allocate all the 40 outlets left after the first procedure, but the main lot, which included the entire remaining package with a starting price of 9,785 million, received no offers. The price, almost halved compared with the previous attempt, was not enough to attract new investors.

Second lot

The second lot, consisting of 11 supermarkets, was awarded instead. It was purchased by MD, which submitted an offer equal to the starting price of 5,8 million. The remaining 29 stores were subsequently put up for sale individually.
The Milan-based company HS Alimentari srl acquired 10: the Sigma stores in Rivalta, Canalina, Brescello and Campagnola, as well as the Ecu stores in Guastalla, Bagnolo, Cadelbosco, Cavriago and 2 in Reggio Emilia.

The Sigma store in Pontremoli was instead awarded to retailer Etruria. The one in Castellarano was taken over by the newly established Nisal srl for 282 thousand euros, an increase of 90 thousand euros over the starting price. For the trade unions, this is an important example of business continuity, also thanks to the participation of some employees.
